CLOSE TO NATURE
In the Eastern Rhodopes, there are many spots
where you will feel yourself close to nature. This section
of the mountain is wonderful. Here you’ll find countless breathtaking
views, an omnipresent verdure; picturesque coves, stony deserts,
flowery waterfalls and everything that makes us smile blissfully
and calm down after our hurried and noisy everyday routine.
There’s a little and a lot of everything in the Eastern Rhodopes.
There is no other place in Bulgaria boasting such biological
variety. Rare and protected plant and animal species you’ll
find here in great profusion – grasses, flowers, herbs, shrubs
and trees, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. Here sundry
water bodies abound: rivers, lakes, dams, creeks, runnels
etc. Picturesque cliffs, with niches carved in them, give
way to rotund peaks with rock temples, whole cities cut into
the rocks, each one reminding us of the rich past of this
region.
In this “land of rock men”, as archaeologists have called
it of late, you will find the calmness and balance you thought
you’d lost for good. |
