Tour description:
This 6 days/5 nights bike tour starts in the city of Kardzhali which is the main administrative center of the Eastern Rhodope mountains.
It is the perfect way to explore this peaceful part of South Bulgaria bordering with Greece. The tour follows the Transrhodopi bike trail which connects a whole network of villages, farmers, houses, small pubs and local factories and thus supports the local economy, mainly based on the tobacco, sesame and nuts production.

The trail follows the undulating terrain of the Eastern Rhodopi mountains and winds between rocky hills, meadows, oak forests and panoramic points. While you enjoy the various landscape, exciting meetings with smiley people and magnificent cuisine, you actually get attracted by the timelessness of the local life and stay fascinated by the Balkan traditions.

This bike tour is guided by a professional mountains guide. Besides cycling, the program includes visit of archaeological sites, fortresses and authentic local farms of the Eastern Rhodopi mountains. All along the route you will enjoy the beautiful scenery, fabulous lake panoramas and dramatic rocky slopes of the mountains.

The tour is vehicle supported - a car is carrying the main luggage during the day. You bring only a small backpack with the basics for the day.
