Travel visas and documents required

Bulgaria is a European Union member since 2007. You don't need a visa for your travel to Bulgaria if you live in an EU country. If you live outside the EU, you should check with the Bulgarian embassy or consulate in your country.
It is always a good idea to ensure your passport is valid for at least three months when travelling abroad.

Health and travel insurance

We recommend you to take out a travel insurance before you start your trip to Bulgaria. It is a good idea your insurance to cover all medical expenses and emergency repatriation.
